Swimming right in front of the Kneza Apartment

Last night we arrived at Korcula, Croatia, and went straight to our Korcula Apartment at Kneze.

Kneze (also written Kneza by some people) is a lovely little village around Kneza bay, 10 minutes from the City of Korcula.

The water around the edges of the bay is crystal clear, turquoise and gorgeous, and the end of the bay boasts ad good size pebble beach.  We’re lucky enough that the Korcula apartment we rented, is about 30 seconds walk from the water (just cross the road, walk down some stairs and you’re there).  A small stone dock is perfect for sunbathing, and for getting into the water.

The water is quite a treat if you’ve never been in the Adriatic sea.  As the salt content is higher than a lot of the other bodies of water around the world, it is extremely easy to swim… I was surprised to find that I could float in the water without treading water or moving my hands… I could even lift my hands out of the water without sinking!
