Wine Tasting in Lumbarda, Korcula Island
Today we drove over to the Grek (Croatian for Greek) winery in the beautiful little village of Lumbarda.
Lumbarda was the first village on Korcula Island, founded by Greeks looking for new locations for wineries. Today Lumbarda is known for it’s fine white wines, and for it’s gorgeous shallow, white sand beach.
If you’re staying in a Korcula or Kneze Apartment, or in a Hotel, taking a 10-20 minute drive to Lumbarda, is a perfect day excursion.
While you’re there, you may want to explore several activities… we spent the morning at Lumbarda Beach (read about it here), and then go for a wine tasting (we came away with five bottles of wine) and then round up the day with a walk up a spectacular staircase to a beautiful old church on the way home.
